Dear mmnk,

The normal dosage for Accutane is 0.5 to 1 mg/kg. However, at severe cases of acne some dermatologists may prescribe 2 mg/kg.
Some doctor my prefer to give a high dosage of Accutane during a short period of time. Others would prescribe a low dosage for longer period of time.
Being at low dosage has it own benefits. You don't experience severe breakout. Therefore, it minimises the chance of scarring. It also minimises the side effects.
It might take a while for Accutane to work. Wait until up to 2 or 3 months. Some people don't clear up until they off Accutane.
While on Accutane, it is possible for your acne for getting worse before it clears up.
Consult your doctor about your dosage. Also remember to maintain a healty live pattern
I know what you are feeling. Good luck with your Accutane course and wish you the best.
