well i am 15 years old and i started getting bad acne about 2 years ago. it just got worse and worse until my mum took my to the doctor and he gave me this "eryacne" gel for the day and "differin" for the night. it was okay. like it didnt work wonders but i did see a small improvement. then i went back and said it wasnt working that well and he gave me some retard tablets, i cant even remember what they were called but i took them for ages and they did NOTHING!! lol so then i went back and he prescibed my to a dermatoaligist. well first she put me on "erythromicin" tablets and they worked pretty well. i mean, i ended up with getting about 2 or 3 bad pimple on an average day, instead of 5 or 6. i also had all little bumps on my cheeks. it was gross. well i she hadnt given me the tablets because it made me STARVING!!! i would eat truckloads and still feel famished, i'd get hunger pains 30mins after breakfast. it caused me to put on 7kg in 3 months!!! i have never been able to lose it again. I went back and she gave me the choice between the pill and roaccutane, but she said that my acne was not severe enough at the time to be covered by the government subsidy and it would cost me $2000 for the course. i chose the pill. that was the worst mistake i ever made. to all you girls out there: DONT GO ON THE PILL FOR ACNE it is shit. it takes 3 months to start working on the acne and all the while it causes weight gain. i put on 4kg. and it gave me hell at that time of the month. i had terrible pains.anyway.... then i went back to the dermatoligist one month later and siad that i cant go on the pill any longer. she said that roaccutane was my last resort and i had "sever cystic acne" so it would be covered by the government, it now costs $100 or thereabouts for the whole course. i started it the next day, and i never looked back. i was 14. i now have flawless skin. i am still on my course and have 1 month to go. i have had 1 pimple in 2 weeks and it was tiny. that felt SOOOO GOOD!!! i can go to school and talk about skin like my friends do, "oh my god, i got a pimple last week and it was disgusting" lol.., u know i love it so much.. i wish i had gone on it before because then i would not have gain 11kg. the only thing that i get sick of is the tiredness. i sleep so much that i dont have time to exercise as much as i wish so i cant lose that weight right now. i think it is wonderful and i would recommend it to anyone. dry lips and skin is nothing compared to having lovely, clean beautiful skin. i havent had a whitehead for at least 3 months!!!! fantastic! i only wash my face one a day. i love it. i feel so much better now. i love roaccutane it is my saviour. go for it!!
