Hi,
Im 19 years old now in Malaysia. I started getting acne When I was 16 but it wasnt serious. It got really bad once I was 18. I had Mini MT.Everest's on my face. At least 6 of them every other day. I felt SO Shitty! I couldnt look myself in the mirror without wanting to Toss the damn mirror out the window. I was so depresed.
Then the time came when my mom decided we had to see a Dermatologist. He put me on some antibiotics and day and night creams. None of witch made a difference in my skin. Then, the dr. decided that I should be put on Roaccutane. took . And I have to say it worked. In about two weeks, My face was less oily even under our HOT asian Sun. But I had to be a smart-ass and stop in the middle of the course without my dr's consultation. I tought it would be better from now since my acne cleared up. But I was SOOOOO wrong. My acne came back even WORSE about 2 months later. I had HUGE cystic acne and they hurt a lot. I had to bare with it for another half a year because mom wasnt keen on spending another load of money on me.
Today, I am on Roaccutane again along with a cream that I apply everynight. It has been almost four weeks now and results are beginning to show. My skin feels softer, less oily and pimples that occure are usually Micro-scopic. I feel like a million bucks everyday when I look in the mirror comparing my face before.
I am kind of curious tough. I have not had any side effects other than MILD dried lips. I have read that many of you have been prescribed 40 - 60 mg's A DAY..... I am only prescribed 10 mg's every ALTERNATE day. And amazingly I am seeing results Fast. It May be the fact that my Acne may not be as serious as some of you. But I think this is worth consulting your DR about...
Lastly, My english is a little crappy. So please pardon any misspelled or grammatical errors. Thanks!
